About the Project

Welcome to Peace Pals Project!
We are joining forces from two different continents to bring you a new initiative!
Through this project, we hope to shed light on some of the traits we believe are essential for every changemaker. We’ve met many of them and realized that there are certain characteristics they tend to have in common: generosity, empathy, compassion, ambition, courage... these are only some of the things it takes to truly make a mark in the world.

Through the use of relatable comics, Peace Pals is designed to act as an advocate for the betterment of society.

About the Writers

Hulda Adao & Antonella Regueiro

Dr. Antonella Regueiro was born and raised in Caracas, Venezuela. She moved to the United States in 2001 and finished all her education here. She received a Bachelor’s degree in International Relations, with a second major in Religious Studies, from Florida International University. She then completed both her M.S and Ph.D. degrees at Nova Southeastern University in Conflict Analysis and Resolution, with a concentration in International Conflict. She was hired at Lynn University as an Instructor, and later retained as an Assistant Professor. Since then, Dr. Regueiro has worked in social impact initiatives across a variety of efforts in her community and was recently appointed the Social Impact Faculty Fellow for the Social Impact Lab at Lynn University.

Hulda Adao who was born in Portugal completed her Bachelor's degree in International Tourism Management/ Events Management. She began her changemaking activities at the age of 17 when she launched her company EyeSpeak which was all about bringing awareness to social issues and provoking thought and social action. After getting heavily involved with her University's Changemaker Hub, Hulda had the opportunity to attend a Changemaker Conference in Boston.

Attending Ashoka 2018 led Dr. Regueiro to meet Hulda Adao, and together they conceptualized the idea for Peace Pals Project as a way to educate children and youth about the importance of change-making, and the required characteristics that children and their families should foster to ensure the development of socially-conscious global citizens.
